Ovarian Cancer Talc

Talcum powder has been used safely for decades. Talcum powder which was made with asbestos for decades has been linked to Ovarian cancer since the 1970s because of biopsies of ovarian tumors which contained particles of talk in an unusually high rate of occurrence. Studies have found that talcum powder when applied to the genitals increase the chance for ovarian tumors by 20-30%. Manufacturers knew their talc was contaminated with asbestos and could cause mesothelioma and ovarian cancer, but did nothing to warn consumers about the risk.

Mirena IUD

Mirena lawsuits accuse Bayer Pharmaceuticals of hiding side effects and making a defective intrauterine uterine device (IUD). Women blame the birth control device for organ perforation, dislodging from the uterus and causing pressure buildup in the skull.

Thousands of women nationwide sued Bayer Pharmaceuticals over Mirena birth control after they say it perforated the uterus, damaged organs and caused pseudotumor cerebri — an abnormal fluid buildup in the skull. These women say Mirena complications led to diminished quality of life and they live in fear of future complications.

The lawsuits accuse the company of selling a dangerous product. They also claim the company used deceptive advertising and hid the risk of complications.

Pradaxa

The drug is linked to dangerous side effects, including uncontrollable bleeding. Marketing campaigns pushed the idea that the medicine was easy to take and didn’t require monitoring. But internal company documents showed that employees tried to quash a research paper. They feared it would lead to a blood test requirement.

The FDA approved the drug in 2010. More than 540 people who took Pradaxa died in 2011. Thousands of other people reported suffering from serious side effects that year.

Emergency room doctors and trauma surgeons reported patients suffering life-threatening bleeding that was difficult to reverse. Boehringer Ingelheim sold Pradaxa for five years without a bleeding remedy.

Prilosec, Prevacid, Nexium:

These (PPI) proton pump inhibitors, have been linked to causing kidney disease, kidney injury, kidney failure and acute interstitial nephritis, or AIN. AstraZeneca, Takeda and Pfizer failed to warn of the danger of proton pump inhibitors.

Zantac

Zantac and ranitidine contaminated with NDMA has been linked to cancers such as bladder, stomach, esophageal, liver and pancreatic cancer. Manufacturers issued ranitidine and Zantac recalls for the potential risk of cancer. FDA found Zantac’s active ingredient ranitidine contained N-Nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA), a probable human carcinogen. The FDA told all manufacturers to stop selling Zantac made with ranitidine in the United States in April 2020 because NDMA contamination can increase over time.

Elmiron

People who have taken Elmiron, a medicine that treats symptoms of interstitial cystitis, and later developed maculopathy or other serious vision problems that could lead to blindness, allege Janssen Pharmaceuticals knew about the risk of eye damage but failed to adequately warn the public
